MoDOT is seeking an Area Engineer to manage a multi-county district, serving as the primary liaison to local leaders, businesses, municipalities, and the public. The role covers planning, design, permitting, construction, traffic, and maintenance activities under general supervision.
The position requires a PE license in Missouri, an ABET-accredited engineering degree, and at least six years of highway/transportation engineering experience.

Assigned area will include multiple counties: Scott, Mississippi, New Madrid, Stoddard, Wayne, Carter, Ripley, Butler, Dunklin, and Pemiscot
The area engineer represents a large (usually multi-county) area within a district and serves as the department's primary contact with area leaders, businesses, municipal officials, and the public to communicate the department's direction and resolve customer concerns; assists in the coordination of department activities in the area, including planning, design, permitting, construction, traffic, and maintenance functions. Responsibilities are performed under general supervision.
