Job summary

United Rentals is seeking an Area Dispatcher - CES to organize daily dispatch of drivers for a metro area, coordinating with the Service Manager and Inside Sales Reps to ensure timely, safe deliveries and exceptional customer service.

You will monitor progress, optimize loads, manage overtime and coordinate with branches on equipment location and delivery times, while maintaining safety standards and accuracy in invoicing and paperwork.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Technical knowledge of DOT/Federal Motor Carrier rules and regulations.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership, organization and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dispatch of drivers and technicians within the metro-area to maximize efficiency and customer delivery responsiveness.
• Monitor driver progress and adjust schedules as pick-up and delivery orders come in.
• Maximize truck loads outbound and inbound.
• Optimize use of overtime and outside haulers to deliver superior customer service.
• Support branches in maintaining customer relations via phone, making additions, cancellations, and changes regarding equipment location or delivery time.
• Invoicing completed work orders to customers daily.
• Creating PO’s for outside vendors for payment.
• Work with shop foreman with all incoming and outgoing shop repairs.
• Demonstrate commitment to safety and discipline through exemplary personal compliance, accountability and pro‑active communication.
• Perform all safety inspections within company and governmental policies.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
