United Rentals, Inc. is seeking an Area Dispatcher to organize daily driver dispatch for a metro area, ensuring safe, timely deliveries and strong customer service in partnership with Operations Managers and Inside Sales Reps.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong leadership, organization and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record and DOT knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dispatch of drivers within the metro-area to maximize efficiency and customer delivery responsiveness
• Monitor driver progress and adjust schedules as pick-up and delivery orders come in
• Maximize truck loads outbound and inbound
• Optimize use of overtime and outside haulers to deliver superior customer service
• Support branches in maintaining customer relations via phone, managing equipment location and delivery times
• Demonstrate commitment to safety and pro-active communication
• Perform safety inspections within company and governmental policies
• Other duties assigned as needed

As an Area Dispatcher, you will be tasked with organizing the daily dispatch of drivers for a metro area in a safe and timely manner. You will work closely with Operations Managers and Inside Sales Reps to ensure deliveries are properly scheduled and executed to guarantee superior customer service. Without you, our customers cannot meet their operational needs, and that's why we seek a professional with integrity who respects and understand the demands of the job.

What you'll do:

• Oversee dispatch of drivers within the metro-area to maximize efficiency and customer delivery responsiveness
• Monitor driver progress and adjust schedules as pick-up and delivery orders come in
• Maximize truck loads outbound and inbound
• Optimize use of overtime and outside haulers to deliver superior customer service
• As needed, support branches in maintaining customer relations via phone, making additions, cancellations, and changes regarding equipment location or delivery time
• Demonstrate commitment to safety and discipline through exemplary personal compliance, accountability and pro-active communication
• Perform all safety inspections within company and governmental policies
• Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Technical knowledge of DOT/Federal Motor Carrier rules and regulations
• Diligent attention to safety
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Strong leadership, organization and communication skills
