Job summary

Young Life is seeking an Area Director I to provide spiritual leadership and proper management to grow a team that carries out the ministry’s mission of introducing kids to Jesus Christ. The role emphasizes developing leaders, coordinating area fundraising, and supervising programs that reach students with the Gospel.

The position includes leading and evaluating clubs, staff, and volunteers, planning a yearly strategy, and aligning the area with Young Life policies and church partnerships.

Qualifications

• Must have completed Core Training—Phase One.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with volunteers and staff.
• Proven relational skills with kids and adults.
• A call to reach kids with the Gospel.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Spiritual Development — develop personal growth plans and lead in prayer, Bible study and church relationships.
• Leadership Development — recruit, train and supervise volunteers and staff; cast vision for area.
• Resource Development — lead fundraising efforts and partner with donors to sustain ministry.
• Direct Ministry — oversee contact work, club, Campaigners and camps; maximize gospel proclamation.
• Ministry Support — manage administration, finances and area records with integrity.
• Training — participate in mission-wide and regional trainings; pursue ongoing spiritual maturity.
