What You Must Have:

  • Current State Registered Nurse License
  • Current Driver's License, reliable transportation,and provide ongoing valid and current auto liability insurance
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in Hospice nursing management and/or QAPI management, strong Hospice experience, preferably with Quality/QAPI experience, and medical-surgical experience prior to hospice
  • Good working knowledge of Local Coverage Determinants for Hospice (multiple states), Medicare Conditions of Participation (CoPs), & Community Health Accreditation Partners (CHAP)
  • Certified in Hospice and Palliative Care preferred
  • The ability to communicate and train hospice staff on State and Federal hospice Regulations and complete knowledge and understanding of the functions of a hospice organization
  • Travel 75percent of the time

What You Will Do
  • Responsible to conduct an ongoing, comprehensive, integrated agency assessment of the quality and appropriateness of the care provided, including services provided under arrangement.
  • Assists with development and follow-up of Performance Improvement Projects (PIPs) in coordination with management and designated QAPI Committee Members.
  • Assists agency with development and follow-up on internal plan of corrections based on trends identified through audits, quality reporting, etc.
  • Performs on-site visits to audits, training, and plan of correction development/implementation or follow-up.
  • Assists with establishment of a public relations program for interpretation of the agency's services and to foster good working relations with physicians and community agencies.
  • Aggregates and trends data collected to correct identified problems in collaboration with management.
  • Performance of other duties as required
  • Ensure overall compliance with local, state and federal laws, Medicare regulations, and established personnel policies and procedures
