Overview

Area Asset Protection Manager (AAPM)

Lead Asset Protection activities for assigned units in accordance with company policies and procedures, to drive sales and profits.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Team Development
2. Conduct developmental conversations with direct reports, maintaining notes on strengths and opportunities.
3. Interview, hire, and train Asset Protection staff, ensuring adherence to directives, policies, and procedures.
4. Provide real-time coaching on the sales floor and advise leadership teams on opportunities for improvement.

Internal & External Investigations

1. Identify potential theft and fraud through observation, report review, and referrals.
2. Interview suspects following company policies and document all stages of investigations.
3. Ensure completeness and accuracy of all Asset Protection documentation.
4. Share external theft trends with staff and collaborate with other locations and retailers to identify Organized Retail Crime groups.
5. Attend hearings and update related files with outcomes.
6. Maintain relationships with law enforcement and mall security partners.

Shrink and Safety

1. Adapt Asset Protection strategies to specific stores and develop new educational initiatives.
2. Coach staff on maintaining safe and hazard-free work environments.
3. Audit departments for merchandise protection compliance.
4. Identify opportunities for merchandise protection improvements.
