Cosmetic Beauty Advisor Job Description

The Cosmetic Beauty Advisor reports to the Sales Team Manager/Store Manager and ensures the uniform execution of the Belk direction within their store.

Responsibilities
  1. Sales - Responsible for:
    • Meeting or exceeding personal sales per hour goals
    • Being a role model and demonstrating excellent selling skills and customer service
    • Executing successful promotions and special events/pre-sells/GWP’s
    • Driving sales through customer clienteling
    • Working with store management to optimize business-to-business opportunities
    • Achieving assigned sales dollar goals
    • Identifying and reducing shrinkage in the area
  2. Customer Service - Responsible for:
    • Meeting or exceeding SPH goals
    • Meeting or exceeding credit application goals
    • Thanking each customer by name following a purchase
    • Handling transactions efficiently and accurately
    • Providing high-quality customer service to support Customer Satisfaction Surveys (CSS)
    • Building a customer clientele base
    • Recording and protecting personal customer information
  3. General Responsibilities:
    • Maintaining the floor and stock areas according to store standards in presentation and hygiene
    • Unpacking new merchandise promptly, ensuring deliveries do not obstruct customer access
    • Ensuring timely setup of signage for promotional events
    • Following procedures for all systems including AIR, counts, markdowns, retickets, inventory control, and RTVs
    • Maintaining professional dress standards (uniforms) and appearance
    • Cooperating with colleagues and management
    • Adhering to store policies regarding attendance, tardiness, and the associate handbook
    • Accepting additional duties or responsibilities during busy times or as requested
    • Assisting with all non-sell duties as assigned by management
Minimum Education & Experience
  • No formal education requirement
  • Retail experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to use computer keyboard, telephone, and related equipment
  • Hand manipulation for removing sensor tags
  • Ability to push/pull stock carts weighing 100-500 pounds
  • Reaching above and below shoulder level and lifting 25-50 pound boxes
  • Ability to apply makeup/treatment to customers' faces
