Job summary

North Slope Borough in Barrow, AK seeks a Wildlife Biologist to plan and conduct field research and monitoring of wildlife and habitats on Alaska's North Slope. You will analyze technical data, write reports and proposals to support wildlife health and sustainability, and coordinate with federal, state, and local partners.

Responsibilities include designing surveys, documenting wildlife resources affected by subsistence harvesting, and communicating findings to Borough staff and the public.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Wildlife Management or Biological Sciences.
• At least two years of wildlife management work experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement wildlife research programs such as surveys and censuses.
• Analyze and interpret field data and prepare reports.
• Coordinate with staff and visiting scientists on projects.
• Communicate results to Borough staff and public as appropriate.
• Seek and prepare grant opportunities as needed.
