POSITION SUMMARY: The Laundry Attendant at one of Oxford’s boutique-style or luxury hotels is responsible for ensuring that all hotel linens, towels, and guest garments meet the highest standards of cleanliness, care, and presentation. This role plays an essential part in supporting room readiness and guest satisfaction by processing laundry efficiently and returning items in flawless condition. Working closely with the housekeeping and operations teams, the Laundry Attendant helps maintain a consistent and timely supply of fresh linens and amenities throughout the hotel. This position upholds Oxford Collection’s quality control procedures, sanitation guidelines, and safety protocols contributing to a seamless, elevated guest experience The Laundry Attendant plays a crucial role in striving to meet and exceed Four-Star service standards, delivering high-quality service and amenities with strong attention to detail, ensuring excellence in every guest interaction, and consistently exceeding expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: All duties and responsibilities of this position are to be performed with exceptional caring and genuine guest service upholding the Oxford Collection of hotels standards and culture at all times.

Laundry (85%):

  • Sort, wash, dry, fold, and iron bed linens, towels, tablecloths and napkins while maintaining luxury hospitality standards
  • Inspect all linens and towels and linen for stains, damage, or wear, and ensure only high-quality items are put into circulation
  • Remove damaged or stained items before loading washers, pretreat stains as needed
  • Properly maintain and operate commercial washing machines, dryers, and pressing equipment, setting washers and dryers to appropriate cycles, heating, and cooling times to ensure safe and efficient laundering
  • Press, fold, and stack all linens
  • Assist in delivering linens to designated closets and storage areas to meet production standards
  • Maintain a clean work environment by sweeping, mopping, and ensuring that the laundry area is organized and free of safety hazards

Perform all tasks in compliance with federal, state, local, food safety and sanitation requirements and Oxford Collection of hotels safety standards and security procedures. Be knowledgeable about and able to respond to emergency situations. Report any maintenance repairs needed immediately to their supervisor or General Manager

Safety and Maintenance (5%):

  • Follow all safety procedures to minimize hazards in the laundry area including proper handling of all hazardous materials following Blood Borne Pathogen protocols
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages immediately to the supervisor
  • Be knowledgeable about and respond to emergency situations effectively

Guest Relations (5%):

  • Interact and acknowledge guests with a polished and professional demeanor, maintaining a high level of customer service
  • Always provide a high level of customer service, taking time with our guests to ensure every aspect of their stay is up to expectations
  • Communicate effectively with the housekeeping team to meet daily linen needs and service goals
  • Keep the supervisor informed of any issues or unusual situations that may impact operations

Other (5%):

  • Communicate effectively with all hotel staff to ensure the smooth delivery of services
  • Adhere to attendance policies and maintain regular availability for scheduled shifts
  • Other duties as assigned

Preffered Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • 2+ years Hospitality / Hotel Work Experience preferred

Job Requirements

  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening, weekends and holidays
  • Reliable and consistent attendance

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand and arm movements frequently
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds occasionally and often exert up to 20 pounds of force to push, pull, carry, lift or otherwise move objects
  • Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis
  • While primarily an indoor job, must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat)
  • Must be able to work in heat
  • Must be able to climb stairs both inside and outside and frequently lift 20 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs
