Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Signal Processing Scientist to bridge advanced research and real-world operational impact. You will translate complex mathematical models—specifically in universal spectral estimation and array processing—into efficient, testable code for CUI and classified datasets.

The role emphasizes collaboration, rapid prototyping, and autonomy, with a work schedule of M–F 8 AM–5 PM EST and occasional Arctic field deployments of up to 3–4 weeks per year.

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge in experimental data analysis and wave physics.
  • Strong programming experience for modeling and data analysis.
  • Experience with acoustics and observer equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Acoustic modeling and prediction using numerical methods.
  • Data integration from satellite, ocean forecasts, and field data.
  • Model validation with under-ice acoustic recordings.
  • Field operations support and logistics for Arctic work.
  • Scientific communication and technical reporting.
  • Occasional field travel up to 3–4 weeks per year.
