The State of Florida, Division of Library and Information Services, Bureau of Archives and Records Management seeks an Archivist I to manage outreach through Florida Memory and social media, supporting public engagement with archival materials.

The role emphasizes researching materials, coordinating events, and assisting in digital preservation efforts, with emphasis on written and verbal communication skills and public relations experience.

Qualifications

  • Four years of direct experience. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for the required years of experience.
  • One year of professional experience in writing, marketing, media relations, public relations, or related area.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications or History preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains knowledge of State Archives collections to select materials for sharing on Bureau social media platforms.
  • Coordinates outreach events for external groups attending Florida Memory and Bureau tours and presentations.
  • Assists in digitization, editing, and clipping of films for sharing on Bureau social media platforms and prepares preservation versions.
  • Responds to patron questions related to outreach events and collections.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
