Job summary

Boston University seeks an Archives Instruction Assistant to support undergraduate class visits and instructional activities at the Howard Gotlieb Archival Research Center. You will help plan and host sessions, move materials to and from storage, provide day-of support, assist with research, and help create learning resources for course use.

Collaborating with archivists and faculty, you will help ensure engaging learning experiences for students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and host undergraduate class visits to the archives.
• Provide day-of support during class times, including moving and tracking materials to/from storage.
• Assist with research by highlighting collection materials and helping faculty build class assignments.
• Support creation of Learning Resources Repository objects for future classroom use.
• Coordinate with archivists on bookings, scheduling, and room setup.
• Track visits and trends to inform program development; occasional evenings/weekends may be required.
