Job summary

RRM Design Group in California is seeking a Senior Architect to lead design teams for civic, public safety, or educational spaces. You will direct project teams, manage budgets and schedules, and help win work through strong networking and proposals.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in architecture, 15 years of experience, California licensure, and hands-on REVIT expertise. You will mentor staff, ensure quality control, and represent the firm with clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture.
  • Active California architectural licensure.
  • 15 years of architecture experience.
  • 5–7 years in project management or as a project architect.
  • Experience with REVIT and California codes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Directing project team members regarding scheduling, budgeting and scope.
  • Developing business and networking.
  • Managing and producing aspects of the project including design, production and QC.
  • Leading development and maintenance of budgets and schedules.
  • Establishing strong client and external party relationships and acting as main project contact.
  • Preparing thorough proposals.
  • Mentoring and directing project team members.
  • Leading the technical design aspects of the project.
  • Serving as an ambassador of RRM.

Your role looks like:
  • Directing project team members regarding project scheduling, budgeting, and work scope.
  • Developing business and networking.
  • Managing and producing aspects of the project, including design, production, and quality control.
  • Leading assistance in the development and maintenance of the project budgets and schedules.
  • Nurturing and establishing strong relationships with all outside parties involved in a project as their primary project contact, ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Preparing and completing thorough proposals.
  • Mentoring and directing project team members.
  • Leading the technical design aspects of the project.
  • Being an ambassador of RRM.
What you’ll bring to the table:
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture.
  • 15 years of architecture experience.
  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years of practical experience in project management or working as a project architect.
  • Experience in REVIT.
  • Active California Architectural licensure.
  • Familiarity with California codes, facilitating projects through enforcement agencies, and contract administration.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and organizational skills.
  • Excellent architectural detailing skills.
Above & Beyond:
  • Some work experience in architecture, engineering, surveying, landscape architecture, or planning firm
COMPENSATION:

The hiring range for this role is targeted at $112,320 - $148,200 per year, depending on skills and experience.
