Job summary

HDR is seeking an Operations Principal - Architecture to lead daily operations and project oversight within our Architecture practice. You will mentor teams, drive strategic planning, and collaborate with business development and leadership across disciplines to deliver high-quality spaces and experiences worldwide.

The role emphasizes architectural excellence, resilience, sustainability, and employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering or closely related field is required.
• Architectural registration and extensive related technical management experience are preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication and team-building skills are essential.
• Experience in development and management of diverse teams is desirable.
• Ability to work cooperatively with operations managers, business group and technical directors and marketing managers.
• Commitment to quality, continuous improvement and HDR values.
• Active participation in HDR's employee-owned culture is required.
• Minimum of 10 years of architectural experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Architectural Managing Principal with daily operations, project oversight, and mentoring.
• Handle strategic planning, execution, growth and recruiting.
• Collaborate with business development on project planning and staffing.
• Coordinate with office leadership including design and market principals.
• Serve as a project manager on projects in addition to management duties.
• Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Operations Principal, we'll count on you to:

• Assist the Architectural Managing Principal with daily operations, such as project oversight, management reviews, quality control, financials and mentoring.
• Assist with strategic planning, execution, growth and recruiting.
• Work directly with business development staff on project planning, financial information, staffing requirements, and other related matters.
• Work cooperatively with office leadership including design and market principals.
• Serve as a project manager on projects in addition to management responsibilities.
• Perform other duties as needed.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Architectural registration and extensive related technical management experience.
• Good leadership and organizational skills.
• Service and client-related personality.
• Experience in development and management of diverse teams preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of Architectural experience
