Job summary

CESO, Inc. is seeking an Architecture Manager to lead design development and delivery of architectural solutions across a diverse project portfolio. You will uphold design excellence, enforce standards, and drive innovation while mentoring staff and balancing workload across offices.

You will oversee budgets, schedules, QA/QC, and cross-functional initiatives, ensuring projects meet client requirements and CESO’s best practices. Emphasis on leadership, collaboration, and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field required.
• Minimum 12 years of professional experience.
• Registered Architect (RA) licensure required.
• Multi-state licensure as required by CESO to become signatory.
• NCARB Certification preferred.
• CSI - CCS or CDT preferred.
• Computer skills to enter timesheet data and use MS Outlook.
• Proficient knowledge of Revit and/or AutoCAD.

At CESO, an Architecture Manager provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the design development and delivery of architectural solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects. This position is responsible for upholding design excellence, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and codes, and aligning with firm-wide best practices. An Architecture Manager drives innovation in design, fosters a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement in design processes and documentation. In addition to managing team schedules and design workflows, this position plays a key part in balancing workload across offices, mentoring staff, and contributing to cross-functional initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist team members by providing technical direction.
• Supervise architecture teams and serve as a senior technical resource for resolving complex design challenges and project issues.
• Mentor and coach (Sr) Team Leads, (Sr) Architects / (Sr) Design Coordinators, and other architectural production staff to support skill development, performance consistency, and career growth.
• Oversee team budgets, labor utilization, and resource planning at the Business Unit level, as led by (Sr) Team Leads at a program and project level, to support efficient project execution and alignment with Business Unit goals.
• Ensure architectural teams meet client program requirements within established budget and schedule constraints.
• Apply advanced knowledge of architectural design principles and practices to guide project execution and support team decision-making.
• Facilitate regular team meetings to share updates, reinforce standards, best practices, and identify opportunities for performance improvement.
• Assist Project Managers and Team Leads in the preparation of proposals, budgets, and design strategies from concept through completion.
• Ensure company QA/QC procedures and standards are adhered to by project teams, and assist with project Quality Assurance reviews, as needed, to support complex projects and/or project schedules.
• Supervising direct reports is a key responsibility of this job.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Architecture or related field is required.
• Minimum of 12 years of professional experience is required.
• Registered Architect (RA) licensure is required.
• Obtain multi-state licensure as required by CESO to become a signatory for the company.
• NCARB Certification is preferred.
• CSI - CCS and or CDT certification is preferred.
• Computer skills necessary to enter daily timesheet data and use Microsoft Outlook for email correspondence.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam Revu, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Newforma Konekt.
• Advanced knowledge of Revit, and/or AutoCAD.
• Ability to travel.

  $107,541 - $227,956 a year

  CESO Compensation Transparency: The pay band shown reflects the minimum and maximum base salary for this position at CESO. Actual pay is determined by several factors, including location, experience, education, skills, and internal equity. Our pay structures are benchmarked against industry and market data to stay competitive. Each offer is based on a full review of a candidate's background, qualifications, and fit for the role.

  Below are the typical new hire pay ranges for this position based on location:

  • Akron, OH: $107,541 - $142,68
  • Cincinnati, OH: $113,515 - $150,607
  • Minneapolis, MN: $125,464 - $166,461
