Job summary

SSOE is seeking an Architecture Design Intern to join our Hillsboro, OR office for a summer 2027 program. This onsite role requires daily attendance, with no remote options, and offers exposure to state-of-the-art building design for leading clients.

The internship emphasizes 3D rendering, construction document production, and collaboration within a creative studio. You will work under experienced mentors, develop a portfolio, and potentially transition to full-time opportunities within SSOE.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s in a NAAB-accredited architecture program.
• Revit experience required.
• 3D rendering skills with Enscape, V-ray, SketchUp, or 3ds Max.
• Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Demonstrated leadership in school or community.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and graphic skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of routine project design assignments, with growing responsibility, guided by a project engineer/architect or department manager.
• Works from both own designs and designs of others, compiles data, performs design computations, makes quantity take-offs, and assists in preparation of cost estimates.
• Drafts interpretation of own design into completed working drawings and applies design fundamentals.
• Develops project details, prepares selections, and adapts to alternatives.
• Maintains working knowledge of the discipline's codes and studies non-routine code issues.
• Performs production of construction documents.
