Job summary

CCC is seeking an Architecture Teaching Assistant for a part-time position in Chicago. You will assist instructors and help manage lab activities, ensuring safe and efficient operation of digital fabrication equipment.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent credit hours in a related field; or a certificate in the related field with related experience.
• Proficiency with 2D CAD and 3D modeling software (Rhino 3D, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Cloud) and CAM/slicing software.
• Hands-on experience operating digital fabrication tools (laser engravers/cutters, 3D printers) and shop tools.
• Teaching experience preferred and ability to promote cooperation among students and staff.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to new tasks with little notice.

Responsibilities

• Assist instructor in creating a supportive learning environment and supervise students in lab settings.
• Provide small-group or one-on-one instruction on file setup, equipment operation, and model assembly techniques.
• Operate and oversee digital fabrication machinery (lasers, 3D printers, CNC routers) and prepare design files for production.
• Maintain lab readiness, assist with stock management, and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Attend staff meetings and adhere to CCC Customer Service Excellence standards.
