Job summary

The University of Oregon's School of Architecture and Environment invites applications for temporary, part-time teaching positions as Instructors or Professors of Practice. Positions are based primarily on the Eugene campus, with possible collaboration with the Portland campus.

Faculty will teach across design studios, design communication, history/theory, contextual studies, and technical subjects, with emphasis on professional practice and collaboration with other disciplines.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required; exceptional professional experience may substitute for advanced degree.
• Professor of Practice requires substantial experience (normally ≥12 years) and national/international reputation.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching.
• Strong record of teaching with diverse students and communities.
• One year of teaching experience preferred.
• Professional certification or licensure in the relevant field.
• Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Design studios (Furniture, Architecture, adaptive reuse, landscape).
• Design communication (drawing, digital visualization, BIM, construction docs, analysis).
• History and Theory (architectural history, preservation, ethics).
• Contextual (preservation economics, cultural resource management).
• Technical (building technology, survey, inventory, preservation tech).
