Job summary

SHM Architects, PLLC in Dallas seeks an Architectural Technician to support design and documentation on small projects and segments of larger ones. You will develop and document projects through the design process, assist with presentation materials and construction documents, conduct site research, attend client meetings, and coordinate with consultants and contractors.

A BArch or MArch degree and 0–3 years of experience are required, with proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp.

Qualifications

  • Strong sketching and visualization skills.

Responsibilities

This position offers the opportunity for training and development leading to a future career path with the firm. The Architectural Technician performs a variety of assignments requiring the application of standard architectural techniques for small projects or selected segments of a larger project.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

We work in a collaborative, indoor office environment at the top of the historic Meadows Building at Energy Square. This is a great location with quick access to US-75 and the Lovers Lane DART Station practically on site.

Normal work hours are 8:30 AM – 5:30 AM Central Monday through Friday with one hour for lunch, but we are flexible if our business and customers’ needs remain priority #1. Occasionally, there may be a need to work outside of normal work hours or weekends to meet project deadlines. Some local travel is required. There may be an occasion that requires overnight travel.

Physical Demands

This is a largely sedentary role and requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, operate a keyboard, and communicate clearly and effectively on the phone, in-person, and via written communication.

Requirements
