Qualifications

  • Portfolio of work demonstrating excellence in design thinking, technical expertise, and successful project delivery.
  • Experience mentoring junior staff and managing multiple projects.
  • Strong communication with stakeholders, vendors, and project team members.

Responsibilities

  • Lead healthcare projects from programming through construction administration, owning scope, schedule, budget, staffing coordination, specifications, materials, equipment, estimated costs, and completion timelines.
  • Serve as the primary project management and technical point of contact for internal teams, consultants, clients, contractors, user groups, and regulatory agencies, including HCAI/OSHPD.
  • Manage project delivery by coordinating team priorities, consultant deliverables, client expectations, documentation milestones, and construction-phase activities.
  • Manage construction administration for a variety of contract types including Design-Build, Design-Bid-Build, and related delivery methods.
  • Lead for code, ADA, healthcare planning, and regulatory compliance; provide guidance and expertise to internal team members.
  • Mentor and lead junior level teammates with progression toward broader management responsibilities.
  • Consult with leadership to provide input on standards, strategic decisions, client relationships, and business development efforts.

The Role

BA Design is seeking a full-time Senior Healthcare Project Architect to join their growing Sacramento team. This person will provide senior-level project management, client leadership, technical oversight, and team coordination for a variety of healthcare project types in all phases from programming through construction administration. Top candidates will bring deep healthcare architecture experience, strong project management capability, and demonstrated success leading teams, consultants, schedules, budgets, permitting, documentation, and construction administration

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead healthcare projects from programming through construction administration, with ownership of scope, schedule, budget, staffing coordination, specifications, materials, equipment, estimated costs, and completion timelines
  • Serve as the primary project management and technical point of contact for internal teams, consultants, clients, contractors, user groups, and regulatory agencies, including HCAI/OSHPD
  • Manage project delivery by coordinating team priorities, consultant deliverables, client expectations, documentation milestones, and construction-phase activities
  • Manage construction administration for a variety of contract types including Design-Build, Design-Bid-Build, and related delivery methods

. Required Experience
  • Licensed Architect with 10+ years of professional experience
  • Significant healthcare project experience, including HCAI/OSHPD experience
  • Demonstrated project management experience leading healthcare projects, project teams, consultants, schedules, budgets, and client relationships
  • Portfolio of work that demonstrates excellence in design thinking, technical expertise, and successful project delivery
  • Experience leading and mentoring junior staf
  • Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate issues and concerns to stakeholders, vendors, and project team members
Strongly Preferred Experienc
  • Experience in applying Lean or Agile principles to design and construction
  • LEED accreditation, EDAC certification
  • Commitment to promoting sustainable business practices
