Job summary

PulteGroup is seeking an experienced architectural CAD specialist for a Carmel, Indiana office. You will produce and revise construction drawings, apply engineering markups, and maintain drawing standards to support homebuilding projects.

Responsibilities include coordinating updates with engineering and field teams and ensuring plan integrity throughout the project lifecycle. The role emphasizes accuracy, collaboration, and timely delivery of construction documents in a fast-paced residential

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years Architecture or Construction experience.
  • Construction document development expertise.
  • Knowledge of residential construction techniques.
  • Knowledge of plans specifications and residential building standards.
  • Knowledge of structural elements and product installation methods.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Software skills in Word, Excel, and AutoCAD required; BIM is a plus.

Location & Work Arrangement

This position will have a requirement of 5 days onsite in office in Carmel, Indiana.

Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Produce, revise, and maintain architectural construction drawings in CAD.
  • Apply redlines, engineering markups, and design changes accurately across all plan sheets.
  • Maintain plan versions, documentation, and drawing standards.
  • Collect and organize project information from internal teams and consultants.
  • Prepare drawing packages for reviews, permitting, construction, and vendor coordination.
  • Coordinate plan updates with engineering, product development, construction, and purchasing.
  • Support Field teams by addressing architectural questions and resolving plan discrepancies.
  • Assist in maintaining drafting standards, templates, and process improvements.
  • Track tasks, manage deadlines, and communicate status on assigned plan updates.
  • Apply basic building code and compliance requirements within plan updates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Works to achieve day-to-day objectives with significant impact within the area. Work consists of tasks that are typically not routine. Works independently under limited supervision. May be required to apply discretion within established operational boundaries and procedures. Responsible for assisting and training lower level support employees.

Knowledge & Experience

Requires broad knowledge of operational systems and practices. Typically requires high school diploma or equivalent and minimum 4 years relevant work experience. Some job areas may require vocational or technical education in addition to prior work experience.

  • Knowledge of technical and procedural activities related to home building construction including understanding plans specifications.
  • Knowledge of structural elements and product installation means and methods.
  • Effective communication and organization skills.
  • Software Skills – Word, Excel, and ACAD required.
  • BIM software is a plus.
