Job summary

HOK is seeking a Architectural Student Intern for the summer to perform basic architectural tasks under detailed instruction. You will work with CAD/BIM tools to prepare drawings, develop design solutions, and incorporate sustainable design principles.

You’ll produce 2D/3D presentations and build models for review, contributing to a green workplace and client service culture. Applicants should be currently enrolled in an architecture or related degree program, with familiarity in Revit, AutoCAD,

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an architecture or related degree program.
• Basic knowledge of architectural building systems.
• Basic knowledge of sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines.
• Proficiency in Revit preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Proficiency in 3D Modeling software such as Sketchup, Rhino and Grasshopper preferred.
• Proficiency in Affinity software suite preferred.
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work in team environment.
• Ability to effectively meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and modifies architectural documents, elevations, sections, details, etc. as directed by others utilizing CAD/BIM.
• Develops solutions to technical and design problems following established standards.
• Incorporates Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.
• Prepares 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings.
• Builds models or prepares project boards for client/project team review.
• Takes personal responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices.
• Fosters a commitment to external and internal client service.
