Job summary

The University of Texas at Arlington invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Architectural History and Theory. The successful candidate will teach design studios at both undergraduate and graduate levels and contribute to required courses and elective seminars in their area of expertise.

Qualifications

• Professional degree in architecture (M.Arch or international equivalent) or related field.
• Demonstrated capacity for excellence in design studio teaching.
• Active research or creative practice agenda in architectural theory and design.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate design studios as core component of the architecture curriculum, integrating design inquiry with theoretical, social, environmental, and/or technical perspectives.
• Contribute to required and elective courses in architectural theory and related areas, with opportunities to engage questions of design, human and environmental well-being, sustainability, and the broader social and cultural contexts of architecture.
• Develop and sustain a program of research and/or creative scholarship with a clear trajectory and potential for national or international impact.
• Participate in service to the School, College, and University, including interdisciplinary collaboration across allied fields such as landscape architecture, interior design, and planning.
