Job summary

Penn State University in University Park is seeking a College of Engineering Architectural Engineer to provide engineering expertise for multidisciplinary research, instruction, and lab operations.

You will design, integrate, and test research hardware, manage lab facilities and safety programs, coordinate project schedules, and develop tooling and data acquisition capabilities to support sponsored research.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in structural engineering and materials testing desired.
  • Experience with CAD, sensors, data acquisition, and test automation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, integrate, and implement research activities using advanced engineering principles.
  • Manage lab operations, safety, budgeting, and billing for utilization.
  • Coordinate research scheduling with PIs and cross-functional teams.
  • Develop test plans, execute validation, and document results.
