Job summary

Kiewit Corporation in Lenexa, KS is seeking a Building Electrical Engineer Intern for the KAE group. We are looking for ideal candidates to grow the team by helping establish, maintain, and improve company standards and tools while using these tools to contribute to project success.

Candidates should be familiar with drawing and technical tools and with design documentation creation. Location is Lenexa, KS.

Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Architectural Engineering with an electrical focus.
GPA above 3.0 preferred.
Familiar with Revit and Microsoft Office.
Familiarity with lighting design software and Bluebeam a plus.
Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Close to moderate supervision by a more experienced architect and/or engineer.
Develop familiarity with departmental design standards, policies, guidelines and standards.
Assist in developing building lighting, power and distribution designs, including minor telecom and security provisions.
Perform Revit modeling and coordinate with BIM staff for completion.
Assist in completing calculations for lighting, electrical loading, short circuit, voltage drop, and energy code.
Coordinate with others inside and outside of Industrial Building Group.
Assist with creating and maintaining department standards and tools.
Assist with building estimating deliverable completion.
