Job summary

RGS Products Inc. in Waterford, PA is seeking an Architectural Drafter/Detailer to produce design documents and drawings for construction projects. This role focuses on preparing plans, sections, and details for submission to Architects and fabrication teams.

You will work closely with Project Managers and client Architects to create project documents and drawings, including bills of material, while ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of drafting experience with AutoCAD (2D).
• Proficient in MS Word & Excel; familiar with Adobe or Bluebeam PDF software.
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Design/Drafting, Mechanical Engineering/Technology, Architecture, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and release submittal and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD.
• Review project drawings, codes, and standards to ensure compliance with requirements.
• Organize and manage project files for easy revision.
• Communicate with Engineers, Project Managers, and Clients to resolve drafting issues.
• Produce RFIs and support documentation for project records.
• Travel to job sites as needed (approx. 5%).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Architectural Drafter/Detailer is responsible for the preparation of design documents and drawings during all phases of construction projects. This position will produce drawings for submission to Architects and RGS’s fabrication shop. Drawings include plans, sections and details along with bills of material. Drafter/Detailer will work directly with Project Managers and client Architect/GC’s to create project documents and drawings.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Work with AutoCad drafting software to create, modify, and release submittal and fabrication drawings.
• Review project drawings, specifications, building codes, and RGS standards to ensure details conform to the project requirements.
• Utilize dynamic blocks and maintain drawings standards across all projects.
• Organize and manage project files to allow easy access and revision.
• Communicate effectively with Engineers, Project Managers, and Clients to clarify specifications and resolve drafting related issues.
• Produce RFI’s and support documentation for project records
• Quantify materials needed for the project and assembly of Bills of Material for purchase.
• Assured work completed is accurate and within project deadlines.
• Occasional travel to job sites to troubleshoot installation issues (5% travel)
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

• 2-4 years’ experience with:
• Autocad (2D)
• Microsoft Word & Excel
• Adobe or Bluebeam pdf software
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to details.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

Education and Experience

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Design/Drafting, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Architecture, or related field.
• Experience with construction, manufacturing, and/or aluminum extrusions preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
