CSHQA is seeking an Architectural Drafter to produce and coordinate project design and construction documents at our Denver, Boise, or Sacramento offices. Under supervision, you will support project teams and help advance drawing sets.

You should be proficient in AutoCAD and Revit, read basic civil/structural/MEP plans, and coordinate with engineers and consultants. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

  • College-level schooling in Drafting, Design, or Architecture or equivalent program.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Job description


We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our organization at one of our three office locations: Denver, Boise, or Sacramento.

As an Architectural Drafter at CSHQA, you will be responsible for producing and coordinating project design and/or construction documents of projects, and will also assist project teams and other staff members as directed.

This position requires knowledge of the design and construction process, understanding of project work plans, schedules, staffing and budgets, as well as strong skills in prioritization, efficiency and the continuous improvement of services and processes. You should be adept at effectively communicating and collaborating with a broad range of internal and external individuals or representatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Ability to create documents in AutoCAD/Revit to construct a building or remodel of a building.
  • Under the guidance of the Project Manager/Architect, be able to read and understand basic civil, structural, and MEP plans-symbology, and basic sheet notes.
  • Ability to review and provide direction to a Team on how to correct work prior to being distributed.
  • Ability to take written and verbal direction in development of architectural documents, through redlines, mark-ups, sketches, and review of existing information to develop DD’s, CD’s, Details, Exhibits, etc.
  • Ability to create and edit supporting architectural documents, such as Specifications, Spreadsheets, Transmittals, Reports, Schedules, etc.
  • Ability to interact with engineering consultants such as Civil, MEP, Structural, etc.
  • Ability to learn to survey existing conditions; taking accurate and legible field dimensions, measurements and notes of existing conditions.
  • Ability to learn to conduct job-site observations and perform follow-up communication and coordination during Construction Administration.
  • Willingness to work on a variety of building typologies and architectural styles.
  • Self-motivated; ability to work independently and in a team environment to coordinate and maintain positive working relationships with other design professionals.
  • Excellent problem solver and independent thinker with good listening skills and strong follow-through.
  • Excellent graphic, communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1-3 years’ experience in the production of AutoCAD and Revit drawings; architectural projects preferred.
  • College-level schooling in Drafting, Design, and Architecture or a graduate of a 2-year architectural design and technology or drafting program
  • AutoCAD and/or Revit skills
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Drafting experience with an Architectural Firm
  • Basic skills with Bluebeam PDF editing application.
  • Certificate from a recognized Autodesk online Revit training module.
