Job summary

Sevan Multi-Site Solutions, Inc. is seeking an Architecture & Design Intern to join the team in Downers Grove, IL this Spring and Summer 2027. You will gain hands-on experience across construction projects, collaborating with architects, engineers, and project managers.

This hybrid, on-site internship offers real responsibilities, not coffee runs, with mentorship and opportunities to lead within a team. Prerequisites include pursuing a 4-year degree in Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent,

Qualifications

• In progress: 4-year degree in Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent.
• Strong ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of the project team including management, project management, clients, client’s organization, contractors, and vendors.
• Ability to prioritize and handle diverse workload.
• Willing to dive in, proactively ask for new things you can help with, desire to learn and ambition to excel.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to tolerate ambiguity and be able to work effectively within a diverse workplace.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize in a changing work environment.
• Proficient working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing complete, accurate and code compliant construction documents.
• Assists in providing technical and creative design solutions that align with program intent.
• Assists in resolving plan review comments from code officials.
• Adheres to CAD standards and follows assigned drafting protocol across all projects.
• Assists in coordinating with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives.
• Accountable for timely completion of assigned projects.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently on simple to moderately difficult projects.
• Capable to prioritize and work on multiple projects at the same time.
• Other duties as assigned

The Opportunity:

Spring and Summer 2027 - Full Time, 40 hours per week

On-Site - Downers Grove, IL

Our Architecture & Design Intern works as part of our Architecture & Design department, gaining practical experience and knowledge of real-world construction projects. We are looking for outgoing students that want to apply what they have learned in their Construction Management, Engineering, and Architecture courses to real life experiences. Strong communication skills and a desire to be involved in all aspects of a construction project life cycle are a must. Problem solving skills, thinking outside the box and dealing with ambiguity are skills that we value.

You will work alongside experienced individuals as well as the opportunity to operate independently. Our interns do not make coffee runs, or push papers – they receive hands-on, real-world experience and take pride in learning day to day activities that help launch our business forward. We are looking for people who enjoy the challenge of taking on a leadership role and working together on a team each day.

Work Conditions & Pay:

This is a hybrid role out of our Downers Grove, IL headquarters. The anticipated compensation range for the position is an hourly rate of $16 - $22 based on a full-time schedule, market and business conditions, and is commensurate on individual education, qualifications, and experience.
