Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Architectural Designer for our Austin office. You will work under a Project Manager or Project Architect, coordinating with teams, consultants, and Owners across design and construction phases.

Responsibilities include developing design documentation, creating sketches and BIM models, and applying codes and standards. This role requires collaboration across markets and a portfolio submission for consideration.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Architecture or bachelor’s degree in support of licensure criteria.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Registered Architect or actively pursuing licensure.
• Basic knowledge of accessibility codes and building codes.
• Ability to develop floor plans, walls, sections, and details.
• Experience with coordinating building systems and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Supports project teams in development of design documentation.
• Assists in the development of a design through sketches, models, and diagrams.
• Uses BIM technologies to develop 3D models of buildings and components.
• Participates in design critiques and pin-ups.
• Interprets and applies building codes and regulatory requirements.
• Prepares and revises documentation across architectural phases.
• Coordinates building systems to match design intent.
• Reviews shop drawings, RFIs, and site observation reports.
• Assists in specs coordination with construction documents.
• Attends project coordination meetings and contributes to VE and cost estimates.
