Great architecture begins with curiosity, the willingness to explore an idea, challenge an assumption, and see possibilities in a place. At INVIVID ARCHITECTURE, we’re looking for an Architectural Designer who brings that curiosity, a strong design sensibility, and the drive to turn thoughtful ideas into built work.
We are a small, collaborative practice in Portland, Maine, designing residential, commercial, community, educational, and public projects throughout the state. As our firm grows, we’re excited to welcome someone who wants to contribute creatively, deepen their technical skills, and take on meaningful responsibility.
This is a role for someone who loves design and wants to understand what it takes to carry it through. You’ll contribute to projects from early concepts through construction, working with our team to explore possibilities, refine details, and create architecture that responds thoughtfully to its people and place.
You’ll help us:
We’re looking for someone with 2–3 years of architectural experience, excellent Revit skills, and a portfolio that shows thoughtful design exploration and clear visual communication.
You’re curious about proportion, light, materials, space, and the experience of a building. You enjoy exchanging ideas and responding to feedback. You care about the details and understand that a well-resolved drawing is part of good design.
You also bring strong communication and organizational skills, a collaborative spirit, and the initiative to ask questions, propose solutions, and keep learning.
In a small studio, your ideas and contributions matter. You’ll work closely with a team that values thoughtful design, strong client relationships, and doing good work. Our varied projects offer opportunities to explore different building types, engage with Maine’s communities, and grow as a designer.
We’re looking for someone who wants to help shape our work—and grow with us.
