Job summary

Merrick Lentz Architecture is seeking a full-time Architectural Designer in Kirkland, WA with 3–5 years of professional experience. The role covers all project phases from schematic design to construction documentation, in a collaborative, in-office setting.

The ideal candidate will have a B.Arch. or equivalent, strong drafting and documentation skills, and proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit/BIM experience is strongly preferred. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential.

Merrick Lentz Architecture is seeking a full-time Architectural Designer with 3-5 years of professional experience to join our team in Kirkland, Washington. We are a small, collaborative architectural practice dedicated to excellence in design and client service. Our work spans a variety of commercial project types throughout the western United States, and we take pride in creating high-quality, functional designs that successfully transform our clients’ visions into built reality. The successful candidate will join a supportive and creative work environment that values collaboration, professional growth, attention to detail, and design excellence. This is a full-time, in-office position based in Kirkland, WA. The Architectural Designer will participate in all phases of project development, including schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction-phase support.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting with the design and development of architectural projects.
• Producing accurate and comprehensive construction documents.

• Supporting project delivery from initial concept through construction.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• 3 to 5 years of professional architectural experience.
• Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) or equivalent professional degree.
• Proficiency in architectural design, drafting, and construction documentation.
• Strong understanding of architectural principles, building systems, and construction practices.
• Working knowledge of applicable building codes and regulations.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (required).
• Experience with Revit and BIM workflows (strongly preferred).
• Experience producing architectural renderings and presentation graphics (strongly preferred).
