  • Coordinate with drafting staff to ensure design intent is accurately communicated
  • Manage projects and maintain clear, professional communication
  • Apply creative problem-solving to reconcile design challenges
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills
  • Proficiency in CAD drafting software (required)

  • Knowledge of IRC codes and residential building systems
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines

Experience & Education
  • 6+ years of job-related work experience in residential design required
  • Degree in Architecture, Architectural Design, Drafting, or Interior Design (2-4-year)
  • Proven experience leading client meetings and guiding full home designs
  • Pay Range: $70,000 – $90,000 annually (DOE, paid hourly)
  • Medical Insurance with Health Savings Account (HSA)
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer match
  • Paid time off, including vacation, holidays, and sick leave
  • Professional development and growth support
Why This Role Stands Out

If you’re a residential designer who wants more than repetitive drafting, this role was created for you. At Draftech, you won’t be buried in production or disconnected from the design process. You’ll have true creative ownership, work directly with clients, and see your designs move from concept to beautifully built homes.

We value smart design, clear communication, and creative problem-solving. Our designers are trusted, respected, and empowered to make decisions. You’ll collaborate with experienced professionals who care about quality and who enjoy what they do.

This is a place where:

  • Your ideas are heard and implemented
  • You work on custom homes as well as builder production projects
  • You grow professionally with support, mentorship, and flexibility
  • You’re part of a stable, award-winning firm with a 28-year track record
  • Work–life balance is respected, not just talked about
  • Work alongside mentors with a teaching mindset

If you’re driven, design-focused, and want to build a long-term career with a company that values both great work and great people, we’d love to hear from you.
