Zscaler seeks an Architect, Software Development (Layer 7 Security & Proxy) to lead the ZIA proxy architecture with emphasis on advanced Layer 7 protocols and SSL inspection. This hybrid role requires in-office presence at least 3 days per week in Santa Clara, CA, reporting to the Director, Software Development Engineering in the Zero Trust Exchange department.

You will guide architectural governance, mentor teams, and drive modernization efforts to accelerate delivery of proxy roadmap

Qualifications

• 15+ years total experience in designing and implementing networking security software and public clouds infrastructure.
• Deep understanding of Proxies, HTTP/2, QUIC, TCP/IP, TLS/DTLS and SSL proxies.
• Proficient in C language.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Responsabilités

• Provide technical leadership for the ZIA proxy architecture with a focus on Layer 7 protocols and SSL inspection.
• Drive architectural decisions to improve code quality and scalability across the proxy stack.
• Modernize the ZIA codebase by addressing technical debt and rewriting components when needed.
• Collaborate with Product Management and engineering on solution design and end-to-end delivery of core ZIA functionality.
• Establish reference architectures and design patterns for ZIA components and integrations.
