Job summary

Shive-Hattery is seeking an Architect in the Food + Pharmaceutical Market to join our team in a hybrid office setting. You will lead architectural design and project management from concept through completion, collaborating with design professionals to deliver thoughtful, high-quality solutions for clients in pharma and science sectors.

You’ll direct teams, develop technical design solutions, and participate in client meetings for business development.

Qualifications

• Accredited professional degree in architecture; licensed architect is required.
• Proven experience in relationship building, business development, winning work, and leading project teams.
• Strong communication skills and creative thinking in design.
• Knowledge of programming, planning, building materials systems and performance.
• Understanding of architectural specs, building codes, life safety codes, ADA, FDA GMP for pharma facilities.
• Experience leading stakeholder engagement sessions with owners and users.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the architectural design and project management with design discussions, idea generation, collaboration, and design work in drawing, modeling and 3D image formats.
• Direct non-licensed and other professionals assigned to design, produce, and coordinate the design process, laboratory and manufacturing planning, and technical documents.
• Attend project and client meetings with design professionals for both business development opportunities and projects under contract.
• Develop technical design solutions.
• Develop and identify training opportunities to improve and increase the companies capacity to work in this practice area.
• Assist with growth strategy and client capture efforts to increase Shive-Hattery’s market share within the pharmaceutical and science + technology practices.
• Assist in design presentation development.
• Assist with personnel needs identification including internal networking to identify others within Shive-Hattery who can be drawn upon to support project work as opportunities increase.

• Completion of an accredited professional degree program with a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in architecture or have equivalent education and experience. Licensed architect is a requirement.
• Have proven experience in relationship building, business development, winning work, expanding work with existing clients, and leading project teams through every phase of the design process.
• Developed excellent communication skills which set you apart in the profession.
• Continuously demonstrate a high degree of aptitude in critical, creative thinking associated with design and the design process.
• Knowledge of programming, planning, and building materials systems and performance.
• Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of architectural specifications, international building codes, life safety code and current ADA requirements, FDA GMP requirements for pharmaceutical R&D and manufacturing facilities.
• Have led project stakeholder engagement sessions with owners, and users.

Salary for this role is in the range of $104,000-$147,000 per year
