Job summary

ICON in Miami and Austin is seeking an Architect / Building Designer to lead design-build of high-performance, 3D-printed buildings within a small, cross-functional team.

You will design, develop construction documents, and integrate envelope systems while leveraging ICON's 3D printing technology to push architectural boundaries.

Reporting to the VP of Building Design, the role offers opportunities to advance housing innovation, sustainability, and scalable manufacturing for global impact.

Qualifications

• Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
• Experience across multiple design phases and construction documentation.
• Knowledge of IRC/IBC codes, ADA guidelines and FHA.
• Experience with RFI and submittal reviews in construction administration.
• Experience with concrete design and construction.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on architectural design from concept to construction using ICON's 3D printing tech.
• Optimize wall systems and ensure integration with structural, MEP, and envelope.
• Create construction documents and details for walls, envelopes, and systems.
• Develop documentation for field integration of envelope components and systems.
• Produce drawings and specs for submittals to code authorities.
• Coordinate with software engineers and field teams to translate design into build.
• Review consultant drawings for design intent compatibility with ICON walls.
• Explore novel architectural strategies leveraging additive manufacturing.
• Support on-site teams to resolve issues and iterate improvements.
