Architect, Oracle HCM Application (Payroll & OTL)

Location: Coppell, TX

Job Summary

The Application Architect of Oracle HCM COE will be responsible for administering and supporting the Oracle Cloud HCM (SaaS) Application suite, including application configuration, release management, cyclical business processes, and ongoing support and projects. This role has both strategic and tactical responsibilities across modules such as Payroll for 70,000 team members, Core HR, Benefits, Absence, Workforce Compensation, Recruit, Journeys, and Talent Management. The ideal candidate must have a strong techno-functional background in HR application platforms, primarily Cloud Payroll and Time & Labor, ensuring alignment with business goals, compliance, and best practices. Excellent analytical, communication skills, and the ability to work with diverse teams are essential. The role also involves coaching and guiding junior analysts.

Your Key Job Functions

  1. Lead architectural design and solution development to ensure data integrity, system performance, and operational reliability of the Cloud HCM Application suite, including all modules.
  2. Collaborate with HR and business partners to understand requirements, design scalable solutions, and implement process improvements.
  3. Architect solutions for business challenges within Oracle HCM SaaS & PaaS frameworks.
  4. Configure functionality for all modules, including setup, maintenance, and configuration modifications.
  5. Provide expert guidance on payroll processing, taxation, year-end processing, retroactive calculations, and compliance.
  6. Drive configuration, integration, and customization efforts for complex payroll rules, time policies, and labor tracking.
  7. Support cyclical HR processes such as development planning, merit/bonus, and year-end processing.
  8. Manage release cycles for quarterly Oracle upgrades, including impact assessment, regression testing, and adoption guidance.
  9. Participate in requirements gathering for application changes and integrations, defining sustainable business solutions.
  10. Maintain techno-functional documentation, including configuration details, workflows, test scripts, and training materials.
  11. Ensure compliance with internal controls, data governance, and security standards.
  12. Create OTBI Reports for employee data analysis, trend identification, and strategic insights.
  13. Design, develop, and test integrations between Oracle HCM Cloud and other systems, ensuring data accuracy and performance.
  14. Demonstrate strong analytical skills, problem-solving, and accountability.
  15. Lead discussions and provide recommendations to technical and business stakeholders.
  16. Stay informed on Oracle Cloud application roadmap to support strategic initiatives.
  17. Work independently, mentoring junior analysts, and collaborating with IT, functional teams, and third parties.

What You Bring to the Team

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of IT application experience in large organizations, with the ability to translate business requirements into system solutions, preferably in retail/restaurant industries.
