Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Wilmington, DE is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect to design and implement cloud-based software with a strong focus on secure, scalable data platforms.

You will define the target state for cloud deployments, engage with business stakeholders, and lead CI/CD and security practices across projects. The role requires experience with AWS services, Terraform automation, and big data technologies.

Qualifications

• 5 years of designing platform solutions with architecture diagrams and Lucidchart artifacts.
• Experience with Athena and EMR for data processing and analysis.
• Automating AWS infrastructure deployments using Terraform.
• Deploying scalable, secure operational data platforms using MongoDB NoSQL.
• Experience with Hadoop, Spark or Hive in distributed frameworks.

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design, develop, and troubleshoot creative software solutions using cloud deployments, thinking beyond conventional approaches to solve technical problems. Develop secure, high-quality production code and utilize infrastructure as code, reviewing and debugging code to ensure adherence to best practices. Develop software solutions that integrate with cloud deployments, ensuring robust and reliable systems. Engage with technical teams and business stakeholders to propose and implement technical solutions using cloud deployments, ensuring alignment with business objectives and future needs. Define and drive the achievement of the technical target state for products, focusing on cloud deployment infrastructure, big data solutions, and infrastructure as code. Participate in architecture governance to ensure compliance with standards and best practices, particularly in the use of cloud deployments. Evaluate new cloud deployment technologies to assess their impact and applicability within the organization. Identify and automate remediation of recurring issues to enhance operational stability of software applications and systems. Host evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical credentials, focusing on cloud deployment solutions. Drive the adoption of agile methodologies, CI/CD, and security practices in cloud deployment environments to enhance application resiliency and operational efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Applied Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Technology Systems or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Lead Architect, Mongol DB Architect, Database Architect, Technical Specialist, IT Consultant, Software Engineer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Applied Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Technology Systems or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Lead Architect, Mongol DB Architect, Database Architect, Technical Specialist, IT Consultant, Software Engineer, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires five (5) years of experience with the following:

• Creating and designing solutions for the target state, including high-level and technical design documents for platform use cases, which can be published as Lucid Chart artifacts encompassing architecture diagrams, sequence, component, use case, and network interaction diagrams;
• Leveraging Athena and EMR for data processing and analysis;
• Automating the deployment and management of AWS infrastructure using Terraform;
• Working and deploying scalable, secure operational data platform using MongoDB NoSQL;
• Utilizing big data technologies including at least one of the following: Hadoop, Spark, or Hive based distributed technology frameworks;
• Using resource management and deployment on AWS including EC2 and Cloud Watch;
• Conducting logical and physical Data Model for Online Transaction processing (OLTP) and Online Analytical Processing (OLAP).

This position requires three (3) years of experience with the following:

• Designing and building data lake leveraging AWS S3, AWS Glue, and AWS Lake Formation;
• Working and deploying scalable, secure Data Lake using AWS Lake Formation.
