Morris Adjmi Architects in New York, NY seeks an Architectural Designer II/Architect II to contribute to design development and construction documentation on diverse projects. You will collaborate with project teams, translate concept into executable plans, and support BIM coordination.
The ideal candidate has 6+ years of experience and proficiency in Revit, Rhino, AutoCAD, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite, aligned with MA's Conversation-Driven Design ethos.
Morris Adjmi Architects (MA) is an award-winning multidisciplinary design firm offering a comprehensive approach to planning, architecture, interior design, and art. Guided by a passion for placemaking, we’ve designed over 27 million square feet of built space in more than 25 cities throughout the U.S. and abroad. Our portfolio spans residential, hospitality, commercial, arts & culture, and institutional markets, with expertise in adaptive reuse, new construction, entitlement and zoning support, urban planning, interiors, and art services.
Our architecture practice is shaped by MA’s Conversation-Driven Design Ethos, rooted in dialogue and collaboration. We believe the most meaningful buildings emerge through an exploration of context, balanced composition, and creative vision, blending tradition with innovation. This ethos drives us to create architecture that is timeless yet contemporary, grounded in rigorous detailing and sustainable technologies. By combining design sensitivity with technical precision, we craft buildings that stand out by fitting in; structures that enrich communities, endure over time, and tell a story.
We’re seeking architects who see every project as an opportunity to shape meaningful places. The ideal candidate is both visionary and disciplined, someone who can synthesize design sensitivity with technical expertise to deliver projects of the highest caliber. You take ownership of ideas and lead with rigor, ensuring design intent is carried through to construction. You thrive in collaboration, engaging openly with colleagues, consultants, and clients to elevate outcomes at every stage. Most importantly, you bring authenticity and generosity to the studio, pairing leadership and mentorship with a genuine respect for the people and communities we serve.
An Architectural Designer II/Architect II (ADII/AII) is responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned project, including investigation, evaluation, and development of design solutions that best meet the client's needs. The ADII/AII provides professional architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of large and complex projects; independently applies advanced architectural concepts; and carries out assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures. Exposure to all phases of the design process is required. The ADII/AII may also provide technical guidance to less experienced staff.
At MA, we cultivate a unique culture driven by our shared passion for community building, both inside and outside the office. Collaboration, open communication, and shared values define our studio, enhanced by weekly team lunches, firm-wide “On-the-Boards” presentations, the “Beautiful Spaces” offsite series, and in-house art exhibitions.
We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package, including paid time off, health insurance, a 401(k) plan, professional development incentives, and support for licensure and certifications.
MA is an equal opportunity employer committed to pay equity and welcomes applicants of all backgrounds.
