Job summary

US Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service is seeking an Architect for the Engineering Branch of the Administrative Services Division in Fort Collins, Colorado. The role involves professional architectural work supporting planning, design, construction, utilities, alterations, repairs, and fixed equipment installations in APHIS facilities.

Applicants must meet the basic requirements including degree in architecture or equivalent education/experience and possess one year of specialized

Qualifications

Degree in architecture or related field with 60 semester hours in architecture, incl. 30 in architectural design and 6 semester hours in each: structural tech, materials/methods of construction, environmental control systems.
Combination of Education and Experience: college-level education, training and/or technical experience showing knowledge of architectural principles and practice, with equivalence demonstrated by specified criteria.

Responsibilities

Prepare architectural/engineering designs, specifications, and estimates for projects.
Review and provide technical comments on designs, specifications, and estimates.
Brief leadership on status, progress, and issues of architectural projects; analyze data to support planning and decision-making.
Produce architectural drawings that incorporate applicable design standards and requirements.
