Job summary

Chicago Transit Authority coordinates the activities of personnel involved in designing and overseeing facility and capital construction projects within CTA. Collaborates with Capital Improvements, Facilities Maintenance, Construction Project Management, and consultants to develop and maintain CTA facilities.

The role requires strong architectural knowledge, regulatory compliance, and experience preparing drawings, cost estimates, and technical reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field with eight years of experience as an architect, or a combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

• Initiates project scope and prepares documents related to capital budget and materials estimates
• Verifies designs comply with CTA specifications and building codes
• Acts as liaison between municipal agencies, contractors, consultants on architectural matters
• Coordinates, schedules and conducts field inspections for design projects
• Conducts training for Architects, Engineers and Draftsmen
• Oversees design with engineers and government organizations
• Prepares detailed reports from inspections and investigations
• Develops and reviews construction drawings, standards, and specifications for capital and maintenance projects
• Prepares sketches, drawings, cost estimates, specifications and technical reports
• Performs related duties as assigned
