Job summary

HDR is seeking an Architect in California to contribute to healthcare, educational, civic, science and research facilities. This role emphasizes applying standard architectural techniques and leading project phases with limited supervision.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Architecture, is a registered architect with 3+ years of experience, and is proficient with Revit, Rhino, SketchUp and the Adobe suite. HDR offers a comprehensive benefits package and employee ownership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture as a minimum requirement.
  • Registered Architect with a professional license.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient with Autodesk Revit and related tools.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

  • Graphic presentation skills using design software.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, select and apply standard architectural techniques with judgment for minor adaptations.
  • Perform assignments with specific objectives and limited variables.
  • Follow instructions on complex features and possible solutions.
  • Perform assignments with direction but minimal supervision and design responsibility.
  • Recommend and select procedures; write reports and specifications.
  • Take responsibility for phases of revenue-producing projects as needed.
  • This position is subject to a governmental background check.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Architect, we'll count on you to:

  • Evaluate, select and apply standard architectural techniques, procedures and criteria using judgment for minor adaptations and modifications
  • Perform assignments with specific objectives, requiring investigation of a limited set of variables
  • Follow instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features and possible solutions
  • Perform architectural assignments with direction, but without immediate supervision and with limited design responsibility
  • Recommend and select procedures
  • Write reports and specification covering architectural matters
  • Take responsibility for phases of individual revenue-producing projects as needed
  • This position is subject to a governmental background check.
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Architecture
  • Experience in the areas of healthcare, educational, civic, science and research facilities
  • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp and 3-D Studio Max
  • Rhino and Grasshopper experience
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field
  • A minimum of 3 years experience
  • Registered Architect
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
  • Strong leadership, communication and relationship management skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in use of Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and process
  • Demonstrated graphic presentation skills
