Job summary

HDR is seeking an Architect in California (Folsom) to lead architectural assignments with defined objectives on revenue-producing projects. You will evaluate techniques, prepare reports, and collaborate with teams to deliver sustainable design solutions.

A Bachelor’s in Architecture and 3+ years of experience, plus licensure, are required. Preferred qualifications include Master’s degree, LEED interest, and proficiency in Revit and related design tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience and be a Registered Architect.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project).
• Strong leadership, communication and relationship management skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities; graphic presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, select and apply standard architectural techniques with some adaptation.
• Perform assignments with specific objectives and limited variable investigation.
• Follow instructions on assignment objectives and complex features.
• Work with direction but with limited design responsibility on projects.
• Write reports and specifications covering architectural matters.
• Take responsibility for phases of revenue-producing projects as needed.

In the role of Architect, we'll count on you to:

• Evaluate, select and apply standard architectural techniques, procedures and criteria using judgment for minor adaptations and modifications
• Perform assignments with specific objectives, requiring investigation of a limited set of variables
• Follow instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features and possible solutions
• Perform architectural assignments with direction, but without immediate supervision and with limited design responsibility
• Recommend and select procedures
• Write reports and specification covering architectural matters
• Take responsibility for phases of individual revenue-producing projects as needed
• This position is subject to a governmental background check.
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Architecture
• Experience in the areas of healthcare, educational, civic, science and research facilities
• Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED
• Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp and 3-D Studio Max
• Rhino and Grasshopper experience

The expected compensation range for this position is $88,011.00 - $148,590.00 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
