Job summary

Fargo Park District is seeking an Archery Instructor to lead beginner classes for youth and adults through Community Education programs. You will foster a safe, engaging environment that emphasizes proper stance, aim, and range safety.

This role requires applicants to be 18 or older and to obtain or already hold a Basic Archery Instructor (BAI) certification; a background check will be completed. Training is available through Fargo Parks, and classes may be scheduled evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must have or be willing to obtain BAI certification; Fargo Parks will provide certification opportunities.
• Background check required per Fargo Park District policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead beginner archery classes for youth and adults.
• Teach basic archery skills, including stance, aim, and shooting technique.
• Ensure range safety procedures are followed at all times.
• Set up and take down archery equipment before and after classes.
• Provide clear instruction, demonstrations, and individual feedback.
• Create a positive and encouraging learning environment.
• Communicate with program staff regarding scheduling and class needs.

New instructors welcomed! We also welcome applications from archery enthusiasts who would like to become trained instructors for Fargo Parks District recreation programming. The Archery Instructor leads beginner-level archery classes for youth and/or adult participants through Fargo Park District Community Education programs. Instructors create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where participants can learn fundamental archery skills, proper technique, and range safety.

This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about archery and enjoy teaching others in a hands-on, recreational setting. Instructors will work with program staff to schedule classes and deliver quality instruction that meets the needs of beginner participants.

Currently Seeking An Instructor For

• Tuesday & Thursdays currently available
• Approximately 5:00-8:30 pm shifts currently available
• Fal/Winter Session Dates: Sept 10-Oct 13; Nov 5-December 10 (no class Nov 26); and Jan 19-Feb 18
• Spring/Summer Session dates: TBD
• Additional daytime hours may be available during the summer

Physical Requirements

Ability to actively participate in archery instruction and range setup. This position may require:

• Standing for extended periods during classes
• Demonstrating archery techniques
• Setting up and transporting equipment (up to approximately 25-30 pounds)
• Working indoors and/or outdoors in varying conditions
