WestLand is seeking on-call Archaeology Field Technicians for our growing California Cultural Resources program! The Archaeology Field Technician performs surveys, testing, and data recovery excavations in the field and conducts related follow-up work in the laboratory when needed. Responsibilities include pedestrian survey, shovel testing, processing and cataloging materials, entering artifact collections into the database, performing preliminary artifact analysis, maintaining the archaeological library, and supporting overall laboratory maintenance and organization. This role requires archaeological field and laboratory experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a cohesive team.
This is a non-exempt position with a salary range of $27.00 - $31.00 per hour. As an on-call employee, your hours will fluctuate from week to week. Typical project assignments vary in length from a single day to up to ten-day durations. For out-of-town work that includes overnight, or longer duration stays, per diem and/or single-occupancy hotel rooms are provided.
