Job summary

Dudek is seeking a college-level technical student intern for California archaeology and anthropology in Fall 2026. The position is based in our Mission Viejo office and the Carlsbad lab, with a part-time schedule totaling 8–20 hours per week.

Compensation ranges from $18.00 to $20.00 per hour. Successful candidates must pass a pre‑employment drug test and background check prior to beginning employment.

Qualifications

• 2 years college coursework in archaeology, anthropology, geology, or related field (≤140 chars).
• Knowledge of regional California cultural histories.
• Working knowledge of prehistoric and/or historical archaeology.
• Ability to identify local cultural materials in field and lab.
• Ability to take comprehensive notes.
• MS Office 365 familiarity.
• Read topographic and project maps.
• Willing to travel with CA driver’s license.
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist teams with basic archaeological/anthropological field, library, database and lab tasks.
• Other duties as needed or required.
