Job summary

Arcadis is seeking an Archaeologist to support environmental planning projects in California, including fieldwork, survey, testing, and report preparation. The role involves travel to project sites across the Central Valley and possible overnight stays, with a hybrid work setup combining remote and office work.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and contribute to environmental projects focused on utility infrastructure and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in anthropology/archaeology.
• 2+ years of experience in cultural resources management.
• Practical field experience in California.
• Working knowledge of GPS systems and the collection of field data.
• Basic knowledge of California tribes, culture areas, and material culture.
• Basic knowledge of cultural resources management, regulatory requirements, and environmental laws.

Responsibilities

• Conduct archaeological fieldwork, including monitoring and reporting.
• Perform cultural resources surveys and manage small field crews when needed.
• Document survey details and results for project teams.
