JMT is seeking a part-time Archaeological Field Technician to assist with monitoring, Phase I, Phase II, and Phase III archaeological investigations as needed. A bachelor’s degree in anthropology or a related field and a field school are required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern US. Candidates must be available for non-local travel. This position is not eligible for employer-based sponsorship, except for TN visa classification.
Pay range is $20 to $25 per hour, with overtime at time and a half. This position is remote with 95% fieldwork. Lodging (individual hotel room) and per diem will be provided or reimbursed. Mileage and drive time to and from project sites will also be compensated. Compensation depends on experience and workload.
Work is primarily outdoors (95%), involving bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, lifting up to 50 lbs, in various weather conditions. Indoor office work (5%) is sedentary but may involve standing and walking. No hazardous conditions are expected in the office environment.
