Environmental Science Associates (ESA) is actively seeking On-Call Archaeological Field Technicians in the Central California Area, including Fresno and the Central Valley. Candidates must be within a commutable distance and able to support field work on-site as needed.
Who You Are
What You Will Do for ESA
As an archaeological field technician, you will support field projects in Northern California by monitoring construction activities, identifying archaeological and paleontological resources, coordinating with construction personnel, and maintaining detailed records using electronic data collection tools and GIS mapping applications.

Our California Archaeological & Cultural Resources Team
Our team includes experts in archaeology, geoarchaeology, tribal consultation, architectural history, and paleontology. We work with local, state, and federal agencies to protect and respect our nation's and tribal communities' history. We value creativity, teamwork, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are required for survey and related tasks.
Compensation
ESA offers pay ranges tailored to geographic and economic factors. For this role, the approximate range is $23.73—$37.59 USD per hour, depending on experience, education, skills, and location.
