Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. is seeking Archaeological Field Technicians for temporary/as-needed roles out of our Seattle office, with work on Oregon-area projects. The role emphasizes field surveys, data quality, and collaboration with project managers in a fast-paced environment.

Successful candidates will have a bachelor’s in anthropology/archaeology, 1+ year field experience, and a readiness to travel. Background checks and drug screens are required as part of employment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a related discipline.
  • 1+ years of experience in archaeological surveys and/or excavations.
  • Ability to think critically in the field.
  • Familiarity with digital field technology (GPS, Trimble etc.) preferred.
  • Commitment to quality and safety.
  • Willingness to travel and work in varying environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team or individually.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle records check.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background checks.

Overview

TRC has immediate openings for temporary/as-needed Archaeological Field Technicians out of our Seattle, Washington office. Successful candidates will work on a variety of projects including utility and transmission projects in and around Oregon.

We are looking for individuals enthusiastic about their work with a strong commitment to client service and technical excellence. Successful candidates will enjoy the challenges of working alongside others in a fast-paced environment and developing effective solutions to project challenges. Employment with TRC is subject to the successful completion of a background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the quality of archaeological data, fieldwork, and paperwork.
  • Perform archaeological surveys, testing, data recovery and monitoring.

  • Complete desktop reviews of utility and transmission projects and prior survey coverage.
Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a related discipline.
  • 1 or more years of experience in archaeological surveys and/or excavations.
  • Ability to think critically in the field.
  • Familiarity with digital field technology (GPS, Trimble etc.) preferred.
  • A commitment to quality and safety.
  • A willingness to walk long distances and perform physically demanding tasks in varying environments and conditions (i.e., steep terrain, heat, cold, etc.).
  • Applicants must be willing to travel, have excellent communication skills, and work well on a team and individually.
  • Must have a valid driver-s license and be able to pass a motor vehicle records check.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, physical and motor vehicle records check.

Compensation

In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation

Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
