Job summary

Inversion, located in Playa Vista, CA, seeks a Manager of Arc Vehicle Mechanical to lead the design, analysis, and qualification of Arc’s primary structures, mechanisms, and thermal protection systems. You will own delivery and integration across mechanical subsystems.

You will guide a team, drive engineering excellence, coordinate with production, and ensure robust performance through design reviews, simulations, and tests in a fast-paced space startup environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years in aerospace vehicle structures or similar.
• 2+ years of formal people-management experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Arc Vehicle Mechanical team’s daily execution and technical direction.
• Own the mechanical delivery of Arc primary structures and TPS manufacture and integration.
• Collaborate with Production on manufacturability and tooling.
• Define mechanical interfaces, load paths, and verification responsibilities.
• Oversee structural analysis including first-principles calculations, FEA, tolerance analysis.
• Mentor and build a high-performing mechanical engineering team.
